R.J. Stein is a Senior Associate with Surmount (formerly NNN Pro). R.J. joined Surmount in 2020 and works on the Institutional Coverage Group. He currently focuses on underwriting real estate fundamentals, conducting property-level diligence, and coordinating disposition programs for some of the nation’s largest institutional real estate companies including, REITs, private equity funds, public and private franchisors, franchisees, developers and other high-net-worth and 1031 exchange individuals. Additionally, R.J. works with buy-side clients in identifying investment properties that match buyers’ investment profiles while providing advisory services.

Since joining Surmount, R.J. has contributed to over 125 transactions totaling approximately $400 million in transaction volume. Most notably, R.J. has assisted one of the premier operators in the automotive space with a high profile, multiyear sale-leaseback program which has included over 115 properties $300 million in market value.

Prior to working with Surmount, R.J. worked at HK Group, a full-service real estate firm specializing in off-market investment sales, advisory, and development. He graduated from Elon University’s Love School of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and minors in Economics and Accounting.
