Construction Project Manager

About Maura

Maura Sumoul is a Construction Project Manager with SURMOUNT. Maura joined SURMOUNT in 2025 and currently supports construction efforts across multiple programs and project types within the Surmount portfolio. She oversees site operations, manages vendor coordination, leads contractor bidding processes, and provides end-to-end construction management—ensuring technical execution aligns with budget, schedule, and quality objectives across both national rollouts and regional builds.

Maura brings a strong construction background from Tunnel to Towers, Lidl, and Con Edison, with hands-on experience across pre-construction, budgeting, scheduling, and field oversight. She also holds an undergraduate degree in architecture, an MBA from Rutgers, and is PMP-certified, adding a great layer of structure, organization, and technical rigor to the operations side of our builds.

She has led high-impact projects such as a 98-home Veterans Village with a 24,000-sq-ft amenity center, smart home communities, commercial renovations, and large-scale rollouts. Maura is known for her leadership in commissioning, risk mitigation, and safety culture, consistently delivering complex projects under tight timelines.

Prior to working with SURMOUNT, Maura worked at the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to building mortgage-free homes for injured veterans and Gold Star families. There, she led residential and commercial construction efforts across the U.S. She graduated from Rutgers University with an MBA in Global Management and holds a BA in Public Architecture from Kean University. Maura is PMP-certified.
